Rainforest Franz Josef is excited to announce 19 new Rainforest Retreat rooms, opening in time for Christmas 2017.

Rainforest is growing, and has recently acquired an additional 4 acres of pristine native bush adjacent to its existing site within which the new development will be set. Composed of 4 unique accommodation types, each room is secluded amongst the rainforest, immersing guests in the natural surroundings.

The new luxury Rainforest Retreat accommodation includes 6 Deluxe Two Bedroom Spa Tree Houses, featuring a private spa pool on a raised deck set amongst the forest canopy. There are also two sizes of deluxe studio rooms, 10 of which are elevated into the canopy and 3 which are accessibly located on the forest floor.

All of the new accommodation features the latest in-room technology, and has been designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible, with advanced energy saving features and careful positioning to ensure minimal impact on the existing rainforest.

The new development will be in addition to the varied accommodation that Rainforest already offers, and is tailored to fill a gap that has been identified in the 4.5 to 5-star premium accommodation market.

Rainforest’s expansion will provide an economic boost for the local area, both during construction and once operational. “It was very important to us to ensure the contracts went to local businesses and it is expected that 30 builders will be employed.” says Mike Warren, Rainforest’s Director. 

Local companies Grant Gibb Builders, Chris Yates Builders and PTP have been engaged to build the new development, which will be completed by December 2017.
