Always a lovely stay. The deluxe tree... Always a lovely stay. The deluxe tree house with hot tub is superb. It was modern, clean, stylish, spacious and very relaxing. If you need to recharge for a night or two then look no further. I have to mention the quality of the private hot tub that came with our house too... it looked and felt SO clean. The cleanest hottub I have ever come accross at any public accommodation EVER. An absolute pleasure to sink in to. Staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and efficient. Thank you so much for such a lovely experience. There is definitely something for everyone at this wonderful property from budget to luxury. Take your pick. FIVE STARS ! ! C'mon New Zealanders... don't leave home 'till you've seen the country.
Incredible surroundings This resort is straight out of fantasy. The tree huts are nestled in amongst the most lush rain forest and its magical. There is accommodation for everyone from the older but very well appointed motel units (very good value for money) to the luxurious units. Loved the milk frother in the room and this place has the most excellent bath towels!
A touch of heaven!! This place is special like no other. A stand alone room elevated in the rain forest, totally private - hot tub on the deck - full kitchen - fabulous bed - spacious clean bathroom - comfy lounge - amazing generous breakfast basket with fresh baked bread delivered daily - fabulous restaurant on site - a fun bar with the best Gin options around - friendly and relaxed staff - a new bench mark for me.
Cutest Stay! We stayed at the Rainforest Retreat on our drive up the west coast. We only stayed one night, but I wish we had longer. The room we had was incredible! The Deluxe Retreat was perfect, with one king bed and another bed (smaller than a queen but larger than a twin). It was perfect for the three of us. The room was gorgeous, clean and super cute. The mini-fridge was stocked with water, OJ, wine and beer and they delivered the CUTEST breakfast basket full of great treats. The staff was incredible, super personable and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Cannot recommend enough!!!
Beyond from our balcony We are a couple of 50 somethings on a month long tour of NZ and we have a list that tells us where we are staying each day but most of the time we can't really remember much about it. We arrived at Rainforest Retreat and found we had booked a Deluxe Treehouse. which was a pleasant surprise. We were escorted to our room, which was a standalone cabin with a double bedroom, an enormous bathroom and a balcony. The cabins are arranged so that they don't overlook one another so they are really private. The quality was outstanding and the little extras such as complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks and the breakfast delivered to your room each night, for the following morning were very good. We were lucky enough to have a view of the glacier from our balcony. The bar restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. It wasn't cheap (£175 per night) but for the standard of accommodation, the location and the service, it was really good value for money. If you wanted something like this in the Alps you would be looking at £1000 per night. Not what you want if you are on a budget, but if you are looking to indulge yourself for a couple of nights - look no further. A quick tip, the hotel is 3 minutes walk from the Glacier Guides hot pools so if you are doing a heli hike or similar it is easier to go back to the hotel for your stuff than to tske it with you to the tour.
We stayed in a deluxe Rainforest Retreat Two couples stayed in two deluxe Rainforest Retreats. They were beautifully designed and furnished with excellent bathrooms, generous balconies and comfortable beds. There is a third bed if you need it. Breakfast was delivered to the room and there were beers, small bottles of red and white wine and soft drinks provided free of charge. We only stayed one night and we didn't want to leave. Very helpful staff too. The bar/restaurant was busy and great fun. A nice blend of residents from backpackers and RV tourists to deluxe retreat stayers. It made for a lovely, fun atmosphere and there was a guitarist playing as well. Food and drinks were all good value.
Fantastic Getaway! My friend and I stayed in the Deluxe Tree-Hut with Spa for one night on a quick trip outside Queenstown since the lockdown finished and the rooms were absolutely wonderful. Being newly built the entire building was fitted with modern equipment for an enjoyable experience. Upon arrival at reception the staff were very friendly, welcoming, and offered any assistance to which we didn’t require as all we needed was already in the accommodation. The heated floor in the bathrooms and heat pumps in every room was wonderful to have as we were able to keep the temperature of the complex warm overnight although it wasn’t a cold night so didn’t need it much but was nice to know that staying during winter months would be comfortable. After a long five hour drive to Franz Josef, the spa pool on the deck was quite relaxing, especially at night as the LED lights were entertaining. I would definitely recommend staying in any of the Deluxe Tree-Huts as they offer a modern and comfortable experience. I was very happy to have spent a little bit of extra money for this accommodation to support the business, especially for the losses gained from over the lockdown period. I will certainly be back to stay again in the future!
An absolute Rainforest Re'Treat'. A... An absolute Rainforest Re'Treat'. A brilliant welcome from Oscar at reception who very kindly upgraded our reservation to the deluxe tree lodges. After showing us around the resort and onto our room we were amazed at these newly built high end rooms excellently designed with some lovely finishes and a beautiful view of Franz Josef in the background. Accommodation which suits the need of every traveller I would quite happily return in a camper van as well! The main restaurant and bar area is one of the best spaces I have seen for a 'holiday park' communal area. This place ticked all the boxes. Oscar and the team will certainly look after you. Cheers team.
Franz Josef Paradise We stayed in one of the deluxe two bedroom treehouses and it was a trip we will never forget! Absolute luxury with every little detail thought of! Blissful beds, so warm and toasty including luxurious bathrooms & a private spa pool. Staff are friendly and helpful and the on-site restaurant is second to none. We wanted to try everything after all meals ordered on both nights were just superb ❤️ Will definitely be back!!
Top Draw. What a spectacular place to spend your holiday. We spent one night in the campervan facility, beautifully nestled into the natural forrest giving a real sense of privacy. The shared facilities were great, and the common area had a fire place, TV and even a spa and sauna. We then upgraded our stay to the next level and stayed two nights in the deluxe treehouse apartments. WOW!! These apartments are warm, cosy and super luxurious. Each room had it's own ensuite filled with all the bells and whistles. The kitchen and lounge look out across the mountain tops and to top it off we thoroughly enjoyed the private spa pool in the evenings. Our stay was topped off by the accommodating and friendly staff. Always there to help with bookings and even gave us the time to plan the next leg of our trip.
