Always a lovely stay. The deluxe tree... Always a lovely stay. The deluxe tree house with hot tub is superb. It was modern, clean, stylish, spacious and very relaxing. If you need to recharge for a night or two then look no further. I have to mention the quality of the private hot tub that came with our house too... it looked and felt SO clean. The cleanest hottub I have ever come accross at any public accommodation EVER. An absolute pleasure to sink in to. Staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and efficient. Thank you so much for such a lovely experience. There is definitely something for everyone at this wonderful property from budget to luxury. Take your pick. FIVE STARS ! ! C'mon New Zealanders... don't leave home 'till you've seen the country.
Incredible surroundings This resort is straight out of fantasy. The tree huts are nestled in amongst the most lush rain forest and its magical. There is accommodation for everyone from the older but very well appointed motel units (very good value for money) to the luxurious units. Loved the milk frother in the room and this place has the most excellent bath towels!
A touch of heaven!! This place is special like no other. A stand alone room elevated in the rain forest, totally private - hot tub on the deck - full kitchen - fabulous bed - spacious clean bathroom - comfy lounge - amazing generous breakfast basket with fresh baked bread delivered daily - fabulous restaurant on site - a fun bar with the best Gin options around - friendly and relaxed staff - a new bench mark for me.
Cutest Stay! We stayed at the Rainforest Retreat on our drive up the west coast. We only stayed one night, but I wish we had longer. The room we had was incredible! The Deluxe Retreat was perfect, with one king bed and another bed (smaller than a queen but larger than a twin). It was perfect for the three of us. The room was gorgeous, clean and super cute. The mini-fridge was stocked with water, OJ, wine and beer and they delivered the CUTEST breakfast basket full of great treats. The staff was incredible, super personable and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Cannot recommend enough!!!
Beyond from our balcony We are a couple of 50 somethings on a month long tour of NZ and we have a list that tells us where we are staying each day but most of the time we can't really remember much about it. We arrived at Rainforest Retreat and found we had booked a Deluxe Treehouse. which was a pleasant surprise. We were escorted to our room, which was a standalone cabin with a double bedroom, an enormous bathroom and a balcony. The cabins are arranged so that they don't overlook one another so they are really private. The quality was outstanding and the little extras such as complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks and the breakfast delivered to your room each night, for the following morning were very good. We were lucky enough to have a view of the glacier from our balcony. The bar restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. It wasn't cheap (£175 per night) but for the standard of accommodation, the location and the service, it was really good value for money. If you wanted something like this in the Alps you would be looking at £1000 per night. Not what you want if you are on a budget, but if you are looking to indulge yourself for a couple of nights - look no further. A quick tip, the hotel is 3 minutes walk from the Glacier Guides hot pools so if you are doing a heli hike or similar it is easier to go back to the hotel for your stuff than to tske it with you to the tour.
Luxury In The Forest Loved our stay here. Gorgeous deluxe suite, absolutely perfect for a family of 3. Clean, modern, spacious, private, we couldn't fault it. Very very happy, will definitely stay again. Will also happily recommend to family and friends.
This is by far the best hotel I've... This is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed at. Far better than the cordis, but with a range of options to suit any budget! Staff are lovely and extremely generous, and the deluxe rooms are incredibly cheap for what you get. I think I will have to return here every year for the rest of my life. 10 stars out of 5!! 100 stars!!! All the stars!! Better yet, the whole place is pet friendly, so no family member need be left behind (although I think horses might be a bit difficult). Honestly, it was worth travelling from Auckland to Franz Josef just to stay in this hotel. Cannot express how wonderful my time here was!
Best hotel I’ve ever stayed Probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. One night in the deluxe treehouse apartment. Hot tub outside on the wooden deck amount the New Zealand ferns is truly magical. Excellent service with a smile and the rooms are Absolutely epic and extremely clean. Will be back again with my family. Thank you very much.
WOW! Popping through Franz with the missus and thought we would stay for the night at the Rainforest Retreat. We didn’t want to check out!! Got the deluxe treehouse, which we would happily pay double for that level of comfort and luxury. Very clean, very private and awesome staff can’t wait to stay again, 5 stars!!
Top Draw. What a spectacular place to spend your holiday. We spent one night in the campervan facility, beautifully nestled into the natural forrest giving a real sense of privacy. The shared facilities were great, and the common area had a fire place, TV and even a spa and sauna. We then upgraded our stay to the next level and stayed two nights in the deluxe treehouse apartments. WOW!! These apartments are warm, cosy and super luxurious. Each room had it's own ensuite filled with all the bells and whistles. The kitchen and lounge look out across the mountain tops and to top it off we thoroughly enjoyed the private spa pool in the evenings. Our stay was topped off by the accommodating and friendly staff. Always there to help with bookings and even gave us the time to plan the next leg of our trip.
